Abigail LaPlace - daughter of Kim & Dan Cossman. Abigail is graduating from Mishawaka High School with an academic honors diploma. She is a member of NHS (National Honor Society) and Mishawaka engineering. Focusing her studies in engineering helped lead her to the Engineering Design and Development class and to The Nanoline National Contest. She was project leader for 2 years in the development of a fuel efficient vehicle where her design won best design. She was on the Dance Team all 4 years making 4 trips to state. She was in Vocal Jazz, and choir all 4 years. Abigail plans to earn her bachelor's degree from St. Mary's and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
Ilan Friedland - son of Rabbi Michael Friedland & Lizzie Fagen. Ilan is graduating from John Adams High School with an IB honors certificate. With a concentration in photography, he received the Scholastic Arts and Writing regional gold key awards, and the silver medal from national competition. He was also a finalist in the Young Arts Program. All four years, Ilan participated in the John Adams Mock Trial program where his team won State competition in March of 2016 and competed in the National Mock Trial Competition in Boise, Idaho. He was recognized as the State's most "Effective Lawyer" in both his sophomore and senior years. Ilan would also like to thank Sinai for all of its support over the years!" He will attend Carlton College in the fall of2017 after a gap year spent in Israel.
Alicia Porile - daughter of Jim & Cristyne Porile. She graduates as a valedictorian with an International Baccalaureate Diploma from John Adam's High School. She played on the tennis team all 4 years and was captain her senior year. Alicia was student council president as a sophomore and junior and was student body president her senior year. She made National Honor Society, the Adams Volunteer Assoc. and worked on Mayor Pete Buttigieg's Youth Task force. During all 4 years she participated in Mock Trial & her senior team, having won State, is heading to national competition. She will attend Duke University in the fall to study political science and public policy.
Jordan Brown - son of Rob & AJ Brown. Jordan graduates from Buchanan High School and will attend UC (Boulder, Colorado) to study Business.
Michael Bruell - son of Marc & Rachel Bruell. Michael graduated from Indiana University in the Kelley School of Business Honors program and Hatton Honor's College and the Investment Banking Workshop. He was very involved in his fraternity, AEPi and active in Hillel at ru. He successfully resuscitated a club called the Greek Jewish Coucil (GJC) serving as it's president. Michael has accepted a job with an Investment Banking firm in New York City. He plans to move to NYC in July.
Moshe Friedland - son of Rabbi Michael Friedland & Lizzie Fagen. Moshe recently graduated from Indiana University with highest honors, where he studied Entrepreneurship and Business Analytics at the Kelley School of Business. During his time at IU, Moshe was involved both with his fraternity and a business organization, serving multiple leadership positions. Beginning June 28th, he will work as an analyst for Lacy Diversified Industries in Indianapolis. He is excited to start the next chapter of his life in Indy, but cannot thank the Sinai community enough for its support over the years. Since Moshe's dad is still the Rabbi, Moshe will be delighted to come back and visit Sinai in the years to come!"
Jennifer Porile - daughter of Jim & Cristyne Porile. She graduates with distinction from Duke with a major in Sociology, a minor in Economics, and a certificate in Markets and Management. Her senior thesis was on Gender Bias in Advertising. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and served as social chair and representative to the Panhellenic Council. She has worked all 4 years with the Duke Dance Marathon charities where she was an assistant director of marketing her junior year and the director of external affairs her senior year. She also participated in Duke Build, a pre-orientation program focused on volunteer service in Durham for all 4 years. She is pursuing a career in marketing and brand management.
